4And Aram begot Aminadab, and Aminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon,
5And Salmon begot Boaz of Rahab, and Boaz begot Obed of Ruth, and Obed begot Jesse,
6And Jesse begot David the king. And David begot Solomon of her who had been the wife of Uriah,
7And Solomon begot Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa,
8And Asa begot Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah,
9And Uzziah begot Jotham, and Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah,
10And Hezekiah begot Manasseh, and Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.
11And Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the deportation to Babylon.
12And after the deportation to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Salathiel, and Salathiel begot Zerubbabel,
13And Zerubbabel begot Abiud, and Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor,
14And Azor begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud,
15And Eliud begot Eleazar, and Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob,
16And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

37The son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Maleleel, the son of Cainan,
38The son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2He was in the beginning with God.
3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not one thing came into being which has come into being.
4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

9This was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.
10He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, yet the world did not know Him.

14And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us (and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and reality.
