4and Ram begot Amminadab, and Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon,
5and Salmon begot Boaz from Rahab, and Boaz begot Obed from Ruth, and Obed begot Jesse,
6and Jesse begot David the king. And David begot Solomon from the widow of Uriah,
7and Solomon begot Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa,
8and Asa begot Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah,
9and Uzziah begot Jotham, and Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah,
10and Hezekiah begot Manasseh, and Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah,
11and Josiah begot Jechoniah and his brothers during the Babylonian exile.
12And after the Babylonian exile, Jechoniah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel,
13and Zerubbabel begot Abiud, and Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor,
14and Azor begot Zadoc, and Zadoc begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud,
15and Eliud begot Eleazar, and Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob,
16and Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

37the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan,
38the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2This man was in the beginning with God.
3All things came to be through him, and apart from him not even one thing came to be that has come to be.
4In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

9He was the true light coming into the world that enlightens every man.
10He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, and the world knew him not.

14And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
